You should have gone with kubuntu its much more windows like. At any rate speaking of brains, try out Mozilla Thunderbird and Lightning. Lightning is the calender plug and you can send invites to appt or set todo lists much like outlook. My wife and I coordinate our schedules this way and of course I use it for work.
