Thanks - I do need that stuff to keep track of family occasions and remind mom and Darling Wife of appointments. I thought Open Office [included in Ubuntu it seems] did that stuff also? BillR

At any rate speaking of brains, try out Mozilla Thunderbird and Lightning. Lightning is the calender plug and you can send invites to appt or set todo lists much like outlook.
