I put the hard hangers on my 240D when I installed the new exhaust a couple weeks ago. I did it because I figured they might last a bit longer than the donuts. I think somebody said they might have chain inside the rubber. The ones I installed are really tight and the rear muffler is now rubbing against its heatshield and making a noise at idle. I think once the system warms up completely they'll sag a bit and won't be a problem. If that doesn't work I'd bought some of the soft donuts and I'll use those instead and try the hard ones on my 190D.
