I don't believe Autodesk has included the IGES translator with AutoCAD since r13, but It can be purchased at an extra cost.

But why can't the designers export to I-Guess instead of having you attempt to do a direct read in Smartcam? Better yet, if the company you work for was thinking straight, they would give you a copy of Autocad so you could do it yourself. I do all my own translating because 1) I have yet to see a designer that can comprehend what "remove all dimensions first" really means and 2) the settings in most IGES translators are way too complicated for the average designer to comprehend and best left to the NC programmer. Right now I keep a copy of Cadkey 99, Solidworks 2000, Artisan 3A, Unigraphics 16, and Pro-E on my hard drive. All the real programming is still done in Smartcam even though the copies of Artisan and Unigraphics are supposedly capable of doing 2-1/2 axis work.
