*October 25th, 2010* *LOHARDAGA*: A mentally challenged teenager Roshan Kumari (name changed) was first kidnapped and gang-raped near Lalit Narayan Mishra Stadium here on Sunday.
The Town police have lodged a named FIR against five persons who have been reported absconding. The victim was sent for medical examination while raids were being conducted to nab the rapists. Town police station OC Patras Nag said Roshan, a resident of Ugra village under Senha police station, was visiting pandals on Mahanavami with one of her relatives, Upma Kumari, daughter of Anirudh Singh of Badhua village under Mahuadar police station in Latehar district. Upma lives here at Mahadeo Toli to complete her education in Manjurmati High School. They were later accompanied by Vandana's lover Sushil Kumar Thakur of Mahadeo Toli. "Around 3 pm, they reached the stadium. It is yet to be known why they went to the stadium but five men on two motorcycles came there. They tried to kidnap Upma first, dragging her to a four-wheeler. When opposed, Sushil was beaten up and driven away. The men then took Roshan on their motorcycle. The girl was taken to a nearby field where all the five men raped her twice," said Nag. He said the case was lodged following the statement of Upma, who has given the names of all the five rapists.
