13-Jul-2013SHIMOGA : An 18-year-old mentally challenged girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour at Rattehalli village in the taluk. In the complaint lodged with Kumsi police station on Thursday, father of the girl alleged that his daughter was raped by Sandeep, a neighbour, on July 9. The accused is married and is an agricultural labourer. The father of the victim alleged that Sandeep had lured his daughter to his house and raped her. At the time of the incident, Sandeep's wife had gone to Savalanga, a nearby village. The girl told her parents about the incident the next day. The police said that the victim was subjected to medical examination in Shimoga city on Friday. The accused is absconding.
