For that purpose, yes, but now I'm dealing with configuring the new
drive for backup and disaster recovery. See my other email to the list.
Adam writes that he will be using his external HDD in continuous
service. I've read in online forums that external HDD's in fanless
enclosures rapidly heat up. This sometimes destroys the drive. Adam: you
might want to keep an eye on the HDD temperature. (With eSATA interface,
you can use SMART. With USB interface, you have to rely on touch.)
Thanks for the warning, Allen! I'll keep an eye on it. BTW the model I
chose has both USB and eSATA, so a future option for me is to get an
eSATA card and connect it that way.
