Sean; As I know you are very technically complete, my request or suggestion is to not just start with Drupal but at the VERY beginning. That is how to shop for hosting or how to chose a hosting provider. The basics of what one needs to understand to make the right choice. I would also like a quick discussion on the "statement of work" or the agreement between you "the designer" and the entity that takes ownership. Since those two are important parts of web development, but are not technical, they would add a comprehensive approach to the topic.
