Ubuntu forums and TomTom site indicate that there is no Linux update program which seems ridiculous when the Tom Tom itself is a Linux based appliance. Windows program will not identify device in Wine (similar reports on internet.) How do I update it. I see GPS programs in Linux but I don't know what I am doing.
I have the same problem with the LeapFrog educational toys. Leapfrog likes to leech off the FLOSS community for it's development (the Leapster Explorer is actually running embedded linux), but forget about being to manage/update the devices in Linux.
As for Wine, I'm expecting your problem is the same as I'm having; USB support in Wine is experimental, and requires patches to even get that working. Haven't had a chance to try enabling the devices and install the management software yet.
