But couldn't you, using Linux, drag and drop it by mistake to the
Windows partition and then, the next time that you booted Windows, click
on it not knowing what it was?  Then it would run, I think.

Which is why on my dualboot, there is both a windoze av and a linux av 
package.

Only the ntfs partition is accessible to both sides.
