Couple of things I should touch on in this thread.
/If a first time installer has the printer plugged in, then he will know
at once if it has a Linux driver. He might want the printer more than
he wants Linux. I still have a perfectly good unemployed Lexmark in the
basement that has no Linux Driver. My daughter bought a really nice
Lexmark wireless that has a Linux driver available on the internet, only
you have to log in in root to run it and Ubuntu comes with root
disabled. Many Ubuntu users don't even know that they have root disabled.
Free as in beer, root as in beer?
My six year old son calls his laptop "Silly Linux" for what I have done
to it.
That's it!!! We'll call it Root Beer Linux, an unofficial derivative.
It boots up with the music from a Porky Pig Cartoon and shuts down with
"That's all Folks!!!" In between, it is dummied down on the effects
that the kids can't control, and has Gcompris, Child's Play, Potato Guy,
Kackman and stuff like that with desktop shortcuts. The idea won't get
far enough for a separate stream.
