However, if you have a power supply, you CAN tape a lead to the positive side and a lead the negative side and let it charge at 1.5V for a few hours. Of course, there are all sorts of disclaimers here, recharging alkaline batteries "can" cause them to burst/explode/catch on fire... I've never had that happen, but it is something to be cautious of. Much easier to just buy the 2-3$ battery at radio shack.
