It is strange as to why this happened, because the disks were being recognized; and sure enough if the option was chosen to install Ubuntu onto the USB drive, but the default location to install Grub2 was the first hard disk. Whatever is going on here seems like it's a bizarre software glitch in the install code. Now the next question is -- where's the right place to report this bug, and what package should be the bug be against? ;-) [This needs to be reported or others are going to have the same problem!] I don't mind helping write the bug report, but I'm less familiar with Ubuntu's bug procedures -- so if someone can give me an initial pointer as to where this bug should go, that would be cool. -- Chris -- Chris Knadle [email protected] _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) Vassar College Dec 5 - SysAdmin Panel Jan 9 - High Performance Computing Feb 6 - February Meeting
