>From your earlier description, I don't think the problem has anything to
do with the proxy, other than that happens to be what it's trying at the
time. It appears that the Mac can't do DNS lookups at all. Make sure
that the correct DNS IPs are entered in the Mac's TCP/IP control panel,
and make sure you can ping those IPs from the Mac using MPing or
equivalent.

The IP address of your ISP connection should be whatever is appropriate
for your ISP, with an ISP router address as the gateway and a nonzero
gateway priority.
The IP address of the nullser link should be a private network IP, with
the Mac's private network IP as the "gateway" and a zero gateway priority.
The Mac's private network IP should be different from the Amiga's, though
it would typically be in the same subnet. The Mac should have the Amiga's
private network IP as its gateway.
