Have a good read of Holgers SSL guide, there's plenty of info there.
DES is 56bit, triple DES is 168bit. MAC is 1024bit or 512bit. You need to
know what encryption, and why it is used for what purpose. Read the guide,
and also learn about public and private keys, also Amiga's have always been
able to do 128bit,
