OK networking wizards, got one for you. I'm trying to get an X-Surf ethernet card
working with Miami and not having success. Here's what I've done so far and my config:

1) config - A2000/Tekmagic060-50/32mb ram/OS3.1/4.3GB SCSI hd and X-surf card - that's
the only Zorro card in the computer, the Tekmagic card goes in the CPU slot, (not a
Zorro card);

2) Installed the X-surf, the 'testboard' utility included can see it.

3) installed Miami 3.2b (will ultimately be MiamiDx, but first things first) on the
computer.

4) cannot get the SANA-II driver 'x-surf.device' to work with the card, Miami gives
the error 'can't open x-surf.device' and you get nowhere.

5) tried the MNI driver for this card - note that you'll want to get the current
z2-dp8390.mni driver off the NG site, as I had an old one that didn't work at all at
first).

This driver allows 'querying' the card and appears to see the card. But once I put a
static IP on the card (I have more than one as I have DSL) and then try to get online,
OR, I try to use MiamiInit, no luck, with MiamiInit, it doesn't seem to know what the
MNI drivers are/or what they do, while when you hit the 'online' button, it just sits
there forever.

Nor can I ping anything while watching Miami try to connect to the 'net with
MiamiPing. Not even inside my own network (and I know from that part of the network I
can ping stuff on other computers, as two others are on the same hub and can ping each
other).

Thoughts? I emailed Individual Computers too, but if anyone on this list has recently
used the X-Surf, I'm all ears. I never had this problem with the Ariadne II cards,
but you can't get those anymore save eBay or used.

Thanks!
