Now, I may be able to help you. What you are explaining,
sounds like what I went through. Before, I proceed, and, chance
on putting my feet in my mouth, I must ask a question, "Is this
telser.device a substitute for the serial.device, which is pro-
vided in AmigaDOS/OS/WorkBench?"
If telser.device is a substitute, then I can tell you the
easy fix, because it will work in the same way as the
artser.device I use with Miami. First, I use artser.device
because I had some difficulties with serial.device working pro-
perly with Miami, as well as its internal serial.device. I
downloaded this (at the recommendation from the docs from Miami,
and from Holger) from Aminet. I copied the device and any accom-
panying files to their appropriate directories. Then, in the
box, in Miami, which asked for the serial device, I typed in
artser.device.
Since then, no problems. One caveat, though, if you wish to
run a program which specifically uses serial.device, you *must*
reboot your Amiga. The operating system does not know how to
switch to a different type of serial device to use the same port.
As said, if this is you problem, then I hope this works for
you. If it is something else, that is another thing, and, I
hope you can find someone to really help.
