FWIW, my experience with a partition that gets a LOT
of use (email, news and browser) I find PFS3 craps
out about every 6 months. I just had to reformat
that partition last night, coincidently after just
installing OS3.9. You might find that your problems
with PFS2 are the same as mine. Diskvalid may work,
but the best answer is a current backup and reformat.
I have several other patitions on that drive and none
of the others have given me trouble. I suspect that
I may have somehow incorrectly installed PFS3 to bring
on that recurring problem, but with a six month hiatus
between failures, plus all the positive features of
PFS, I can live with it.
