Hi all!
Since February I have ADSL connection with 768k down & 128k up. It's
from "Deutsche Telekom" in Germany, is calles T-DSL and uses PPPoE
protocol. So far so good.
Unfortunately I noticed that continuous upload would brake down my
download speed in quite significant way. If e.g. I'm loggen in a napster
or similar server and my upload bandwidth is fully used up, I'm getting
download rates sometimes under the modem speed :-(((
I thought that upload and download speed are independent from each
other, using different frequencies and won't affect each other, but it
doesn't seem so. The support from Telekom is very bad, they keep saying
it shouldn't happen and asking me about Windows version I have ;-)))
As soon as I say I have an Amiga, the problem has been solved in their
opinion - it must be my computer's fault :-(((
I have AriadneII ethernet card and MiamiDx and I already chose full
duplex in the Miami settings, but what if some other setting would
cause this funny behaviour? Anybody has an idea?
