I did the same install; LC-1 to Link, and did move terminal 2P over to 2R as stated in the FM directions in addition to cutting the trace, and then ran the brown wire from the LC-1 into the now empty 2P position on the ECU connector. Seems to work fine.
You will probably need the little terminal end for the wire that clicks into the ECU connector to attach the wire correctly.
