Well I hope it was a small sample size, but zero percent of all accidents with 
neck injuries that were survivable overall is still zero percent and a fair 
counter argument to those who oppose helmets.

In the eight or so years I roadraced, I don't remember anybody getting
any severe neck injuries. Fatalities were most often massive trauma, but
usually not the head. I take that back, one guy in my class high-sided
in front of me at Pocono and broke his neck, but he landed on his head
and I suspect would have been killed either way.

Apparently. Not sure about helmet laws. Although I have been told by
helmet-less riders "them damn things will break your neck". My neck
seems to have survived an average of three crashes a year when I was
racing.
