Perhaps not if it's only severe on cold start...? It would seem that oil is slowly dripping or seeping into the combustion chamber after the engine is shut down. That would explain smoke at start-up. If the engine is turboed and there is oil in the intake piping, the turbo's oil seal(s) may be failing. Then again, a small amount of oil in the intake may be the result of venting from the crankcase/cam cover back into the intercooler piping. Jerry aka LGO
