Actually that's not a bad idea.  If I make a disc with a nipple on one end
for a ratchet or a impact screw gun, and then two small bolts to fit the
slot on the other that would solve my problem.  I'm fairly certain that's
what the special tool looks like, but with a handle on it for leverage.

I would say 10% of the cars I get the antenna unit comes apart no problem,
but after 20 years those little bastard are pretty tenacious on the majority
of cars I get.  I can't scratch or damage it 'cuz then who would want to put
it on their car :)
