I'd check the plugs, see if any of them have oil on them from a leaky cam
cover gasket.

On the return trip home to San Diego the engine began to slowly lose power
and feel rougher under load.

There's no knocking or any other issues that I can hear. When I pull the
plug wires for cylinders 3 and 4 the engine idles the same.

Engine temps never got high and there isn't any smoke coming from the
exhaust.

I was planning on selling the Miata for a better traveling car since I'm
usually traveling 200+ miles.

I don't have the workspace to pull the engine and repair it.

Thinking about parting it out since I have so many modifications.

Any suggestions...offers....ideas?

TIA,
Jeff
