Um, oil won't get on the electrodes from a bad vc gasket. It might short
the wire end. Oil would get on the electrodes *after* you pull them, as
it runs down as you pull the plug out if you have a puddle in there from
the vc.

OK.  I read that you pulled the wires, but not that you actually removed
the plugs to see if oil had gotten on the plugs electrodes inside the
combustion chamber , which, as you know, happens when the cam cover
leaks at the plug wells.  Have you leaked for vacuum leaks, especially
the big, but somewhat hidden vac cap at the back of the intake manifold,
near the firewall?
