I don't understand your problem with the "look" of your pipe. But i don't know how your mill is and were the channel run actually
Could you bring me a photo ? i will help you to do the best choise for the penstock travel. For a freind, the penstock is in the channel, underwater. Then the penstock leave the channel just near the waterwheel trew the wall of the mill.
