Doug's well-thought-out response really hit the nail on the head, especially the last graph. If a controller folds easily under pressure - any kind of pressure - it's best that the trainer brings that personality trait to the surface early on. I won't argue that some of the training regimes are brutal at times, but the ultimate goal is a solid one.
