Depends heavily on the wiring and age of the typical homes in your area. 
In our region, we have had zero luck with those devices.

The only way to know is to try.

We've been happy with the TP-Link range extenders. They are easy to use 
and work well, and have a "capacity optimization" mode if you get the 
dual band units, where you can have the 5GHz go back to the AP, and 2GHz 
connect to clients. It works well.
