Oops, on interfaces *without* hw checksum offloading, like this:

$ ifconfig em0 hwfeatures
em0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        hwfeatures=10<VLAN_MTU> hardmtu 9216
