virusscanning? These two seem to cause most of the "power demands" of
mail servers these days, not the number of accounts...
just basic email, no filtering. keep in mind: years ago.
today we use multiple highend servers, SAS RAID arrays and
tape robots for backup (and serve a few users more than 3000 ,)
