Hi Rocio,

I’m not entirely sure from your description how your navigation workflow looks
like. Could you maybe detail which steps are involved and which plugins you use
for them?

For the assignment of the virtual model you can use the NavigationToolManager
(http://docs.mitk.org/nightly/org_mitk_views_igtnavigationtoolmanager.html),
click on the tool, “Edit” and “Tool Visualization” to specify the surface
representing the tool.

Make sure that your tool has the correct calibration applied:

Best regards
Alex

Hello Alex,

Thank you very much for your response. I managed to solve this yesterday doing
exactly as you said. ☺
Also I have some questions regarding navigation:

  * If I want to repeat a registration process (just repeating the
acquisition of the real world fiducials), because the RMS error has been to
high, is there any possibility? or the way to proceed is just by restart all
again? I couldn't find the way...
  * Or if I want to place a sensor into the object (patient) I will register
so that track its position, how can I assign the virtual model to the sensor?,
can I just manage the tool and perform a registration of the tool? I don't know
if I express myself.
Any hint will be very welcome.
Best regards!

Rocio

Hi Rocio,

did you try saving the whole ToolStorage using the NavigationToolManager plugin
after doing your tool calibrations? You should then be able to load the whole
tool storage in the TrackingToolBox using “Load Tool Storage”.

Best regards
Alex

Betreff: [mitk-users] MITK Save Navigation Tools (calibrated)

Hello,

I think I have very basic question. I am using mitk 2018 to navigate, using
Aurora NDI Tracking System. I have two tools (two different sensors), which are
auto detected through MITK. I calibrate first one by Pivoting Calibration, then
I calibrate the second one by Single Reference Tool and everything runs
perfectly. However when I want to save all this data to be able to connect it
later and not repeat all calibration steps I don't find the way:
- When I performed tool tip calibration with a single reference tool, I find at
the bottom the option to "Save calibrated Navigation Tool", and I save it as
.IGTTool. This format is useful only to load tools into a new Toolstorage?
- If I create a new Toolstorage, and I try to load it into the Tracking
Toolbox, Tools section, when I try to connect the tracker it gives me the
following error:
Even if I have copied the serial number of the NDI tool in each saved tool.

What is the correct way to proceed with this? I am sure I am missing something!
It is possible to save calibrated tools and re-use them in a new mitk session
right?
Any help will be welcome! Thank you very much in advance!

Best regards and have a nice weekend,

Rocio
