I agree. We should make sure we keep a close eye on the size of the
packages and if it's a significant increase in size we should offer a
no music option for those on low bandwidth connections.

I have a couple of comments about this. Obviously more quantifiable
feedback could be valuable but I don't think asking users to register
adds much in this sense. Even if the user registers and downloads the
track, you have no idea if they have actually listened to it. Another
concern is privacy, we decided we didn't want to force people to be
tracked in order to listen to the music. We were thinking of adding
some degree of stats tracking but on a purely opt-in basis.

I think we would like to be careful about package size as I mentioned
above. I don't believe that any additional legal complications are
introduced. But you do have a good general point here that there's
scope to be much more advanced, however since developer time is
limited as always, I think we'd like to start with this as the
simplest possible implementation and then iterate to improve things.
As long as we keep a close eye on the disadvantages (package size
being the main one in my opinion) then I think this is a reasonable
approach.
