Hi there Jorge

how are you doing? im not sure if you speak español or not but i´ll write to
you in english. I also have a really beautiful 87 GTI 16V and i had the same
fucking problem for over a year and i change lots of stuff, and spend lots
of money trying to solve the problem and its really simple, Your knock
sensor and knock sensor control unit (the little black box below the
winshield and the passenger side is bad. Just replace it with one who has
the same code, the code is 811 907 397E but if you don´t find it with the E
at the end don´t worry it will work too. the letter E is for 16V and if it
has no letter E it comes from an 8V car but it will advance timing a little
more so you´ll have a little more of power. Good luck.

Francesco.

SALUDOS!!

Asunto: Reboot Syndrome

Has anyone out there ever figured out the "car runs like crap, switch off,
switch on, car runs great" syndrome. I've seen a lot of posts on this, but
never a solution. This problem is driving me F@#$% nuts.
I've replace a lot of shit and I really can't afford $$$ to keep on missing
the
target. Help anyone???

Jorge
