Uh, any idea whether the hole was caused by something entering the casing
from the outside, or exiting from the inside?  Does the gearbox still work
at all?  Either way, I wouldn't bother trying to repair the case, unless you
have it heli-arced (aluminum welding process), which may cost more than a
used case.
