I remember reading something on the net that said exactly what GTI stood for
one time, but now I can't seem to find it. I do remember, however that the
'i' stood for injection, and Chris, you're right, it was because it was
because it was one of the first cars to have FI in Europe. The web site is
out there somewhere...
