Yes, the Carat is a luxo bersion, not geared for perfomance at all. Lee's
review is right on the mark, but I'd have to add that if you're used to the
economy of 8v engine parts, the prices of 16v stuff is going to shock you at
first. The 1.8 L lacks torque in the lower end, but it's a revvy little
engine (more so than an 8v). The later 2.0 L makes up for it, though with
good pull from down low. They're both fun right out of the box, and some
bolt-ons go a long way.
