A2 windshields are bonded in, unlike the A1's, which used clips and a
gasket.  Not really a DIY, unless you have experience replacing bonded in
windshields.  Most GOOD body shops can do it.  Once the new windshield is
installed, they shouldn't let you take the car for about 6-8 hours, while
the glue/goop sets up.  If you slammed the door with the windows up and
sunroof closed, you run the risk of popping the windshield out.

What state are you in?  Here in CA, you get a 48 hour fixit ticket, if they
catch you, and a huge fine if you don't get it fixed or get a non-op within
the 48 hours.  It is VERY dangerous, especially in your case with the long
running cracks (unless you LIKE eating windshield glass).
