Clayton,
If that's all I'm realistically putting out, I have to say I'm embarassed.
I've spent all that money and time and I'm just about the same as a f%^&*^#
Si? 1.6L? What gives? There isn't much more to do to it other than 268's,
50mm intake and a better (hannaford) Head. Where will that put me? I want
about 200-215hp, without turbo/nitrous.
If Honda can do it,and with less diplacement, then why cant we?
Fred(very disappointed)

Fred, I have everything you have done to your motor except that I have
stock sized pistons... the balancing is more for smooth
running up high and the forged pistons don't give hp or torque. So,
anyways, I have about 134 or so HP at the wheels according to
Dynojet. That translates to 157@15% and 163@18% eff. losses. When I
called the Neuspeed tech department, they told me that a
typical VW loses around 18% and that is what they use for their wheel to
crank conversions. I imagine Neuspeed probably knows
their stuff! There was another guy in the dyno group who had nearly the
same stuff as me but he also had his engine balanced and
blueprinted... he put out 138 at the wheels. I just wish I could have
dyno'd my car without a broken clutch and all those large
chunks of material floating around in there! I would imagine your car is
putting out about 160-165 hp is everything is working
properly.
Later,
Clayton

I haven't dynoed it yet. Someone speculated 14's- but I dont drag anyway.
As
for 0-60, I hope for 6's atleast, as stock is, what, 7.9 or less? I
suspect,
optimistically, that hp is atleast 190-195 at the crank. With:
2035cc,balanced,RPI port/polished head,shrick 256's,head may be decked a
little,garrett custom chip,K&N,drilled box,JE Forged pistons,SuperSprint
dual-downpipe(noncat) and TT exhaust. I may be optimistic about but oh
well.
Holland, feel free to bring me down on this. I want to add 268's, 50mm
intake and a Hannaford stage 3 head (claims 35hp!!). I also hace a 3.89 r&p
and lightened flywheel.
Fred
