It's most definitely not as stiff as the coilover kits. The coilover kits come with 400 lb/in and 300 lb/in springs, while most aftermarket lowering springs are about half that. The cup kit also uses progressive rate springs, for better damping of small bumps. The cup kit's closest relative is probably H&R springs with bilstein struts. The bilsteins are probably slightly higher quality, but the difference won't be huge. If the kit is as well matched as H&R says it is, or, if it as as well matched as their coilover kits- it definitely sounds like a good deal. :) > the potterpeople have the A2 cup kit for $550 at: > http://www.parts4vws.com/ - click the catalog link, go to the a2 section and > search the page for the word "cup". > That's the best value you're going to find too.. you could go with cheaper shocks and struts like kyb's or tokico's, but I doubt you would be as happy with them. Plus, the price won't be that much less. _____________ List Sponsor: http://www.netsville.com To remove yourself from this list, send mail to [email protected] with 'unsubscribe a2_16v' in the body of your message See us on the web at http://www.a2-16v.com Visit the 16V Homepage at http://www.gti16v.org
