I've heard nothing but good things about the H&R cup-kit. But, keep in mind
that this kit is designed to lower your car a bunch (slightly over 2" I
believe). If your looking to go low with your car, then this is the setup
you want. I personally feel that the Bilstein struts are way too stiff,
IMO. This was probably amplified by having lower profile tires, but I've
heard the same from other folks as well.

If you are looking for a decent (not the best/most expensive) setup, I would
suggest getting:

For a lower setup:
 H&R Cup Kit or
Boge Turbo Gas/H&R Sport Lowering springs.

To retain close to OEM setup:
 Boge Progas/Neuspeed SofSport springs.

Those are my suggestions. Call Mike Potter (www.parts4vws.com) or try and
get a quote from Shox.com

a recent-high-school-graduate friend of mine just bought an H&R cup kit
for
his A3 jetta- he's really happy with it, and having seen pictures of it,
i
think it looks very good after it takes a couple days to settle in.

i remember reading somewhere that the spring rates and shock valving are
similar to those on H&R's coilover kits, but don't quote me on that.

the potterpeople have the A2 cup kit for $550 at:
http://www.parts4vws.com/ - click the catalog link, go to the a2 section
and
search the page for the word "cup".

Subject: What suspension to get?

Hi, lately it seems like its time to replace the shocks on my car, so i
was
thinking that i might as well get new springs while i'm at it, and do
that.
Question is, i was wondering what the cheapest yet good
quality/performance
kit i could get. Anyone have any ideas? i'm not looking to spend much
money
on this as i am a poor college student, but dont want anything too
crappy.
Anyways, if anyone has some ideas on what some good products are out
there,
it would be helpfull.
thanks.
