thats a decent idea. you might not be able to get an entire dowell in the face of the crank hose though. i dunno. thats worth looking into. i think other than just getting a 2.0, adding material to the worn down slot on the crank nose and then remachining the slot is probably one of the best ways to go. even if you dont machine the slot absolutely correctly, you can still find true TDC by the flywheel, so you can still time your car perfectly. remember that it is IMPERATIVE that you torque the pulley bolt properly. i didnt the first time, and ended up wrecking my first replacement crank pulley. i did the second time, and it worked fine. > Can you even replace the > crank with the motor in the car on a 16v?. yep. BTDT... you gotta have the tranny out though, so you might as well replace the clutch while youre at it. lightenend flywheel too. ben _____________ List Sponsor: http://www.netsville.com To remove yourself from this list, send mail to [email protected] with 'unsubscribe a2_16v' in the body of your message See us on the web at http://www.a2-16v.com Visit the 16V Homepage at http://www.gti16v.org
