But the golf PS rack is "quicker" than the manual and still provides good "feel" for a PS.

I have a beater 1985 Golf with AC (that does not work)
and manual steering.

Other than parallel parking - its fine.
It *is* an arm workout parallel parking - but IMHO its
acually *easier* to park (other than the workout part)
as you can feel the tire scrub better. You also learn
to "roll" the car slightly to lessen the workout.

One of these days I'll remove the AC and lighten the
car some...
