That's not going to work out too well.  You have to completely disconnect
the trans from the engine and rotate it 90 degrees to get it to separate,
because of the input shaft.  You'll have to mess with the CV's anyways, as
you won't be able to separate the motor and tranny without rotating the
tranny. That in and of itself is a pain in the ass, and then you gotta get
the motor out too. :)

I'd go for this way, as in the end it will probably still take the same
ammount of time to get the motor out, whether it has the transmission on
it or not.  There are two ways to do it- out the top, or out the front.
You can balance the whole thing on a floor jack and just roll it out the
front of the car, once you've removed the bumper, grille, and core
support.  I think this is the way I'm gonna do it when I drop my motor.
