So, here's the deal:
I can get a very low-mile transmission locally from a '97 jetta for $400. The transmission is geared taller, obviously, but the question is: Is this a good thing or a bad thing in my car? My car will be used mostly for track schools and highway commuting. Its an 8v 2.0l Audi 3A block + GTI head, so its not exactly a high-revving motor, but it is a bit of a torque monster. Is the DFQ/CHE transmission completely unworkable as a performance transmission in my car? Whaddya think? Also, is it more or less durable than the A2 020 transmissions?
