I'm still here. The progress is slow because I've been working on another car. But I never forget it. I seem to collect parts but little progress on their installation. Ive recently acquired the banana lights and the front turn signals in most recent weeks. So I store them until I get to the exterior portion of this project. I have a lead on a leather interior from a guy in the San Francisco Bay area. Looking into that one for now.
The completed car will drive someday. But as Adam mentioned, it costs me nothing to keep and with two other functional VWs, I'm not in any hurry to get this one roadworthy. I do catalog the wealth of info you people bring up.
