Actually, with today's technology, it should be possible to take a few dozen digital photographs of a single car from multiple angles, and use software to convert them into a single pointcloud file. That file could feed the printer its instructions, but in reality, there WOULD need to be a manual step to simplify by turning some fuel lines, exhaust, etc. into part of their background pieces. I'd guess that most of the bottom view could be done using the ordinary Golf, perhaps with some manual revision, since that must already exist as an electronic file.
