Seems like the mailing list has got active again!! Hip hip hurray :)

Well, we could do with a good pair of helping hands if someone has
some free time and/or skill. There were a couple of posts on the MLUG
list regarding information of Open Source for beginners as well as
information of applications for new users who wish to use their new
open source desktop to carry out academic work. The website is coming
along nicely and a couple of articles covering this topic would be
greatly appreciated. My personal note would be to avoid dissing other
distributions or projects because it only causes gripes and flamewars.
Anton, I am looking at you!

Another item which we might need some help with is promotional
material. Anton showed me some graphics regarding posters we could
circulate as info material (aka propaganda) to fellow students or
workers. Help in that department will help the adoption of OSS
technologies among felow friends and co-workers. This would be a true
grassroots effort which involves the local Maltese population. If you
ever were pissed off that only technologies backed by companies get
promotional attention in the Maltese islands, now is the time to take
action!

Last but not least, I would like to thank Ramon, Keith, Anton and
Philip for the help they put into getting back the MLUG server as well
as the community from its ashes.
