I do believe people change. Actually they are changing all the time.
But they don't accept just any change! One best factor that I encounter is that most parents just can't simply continue to foot the bill especially after having their computer knocked down by another virus..... Please remember that we are paying taxes to give it to Bill Gates every time that in a government department we use windows and office!!!! So in part we are all responsible! For every computer in its department, the government is giving LM 10 each year. Now there are thousands of computers........please work out the sum........... Windows is all the time asking for more expensive computers.......Finally they have to say NO! ON the other hand most parents find themselves really behind the times when it comes to buying a new computer. We need to educate people! Some people find it strange that computers work without windows !!!! The majority don't know that Linux can use old computers and works just fine. Some may think that windows programs are the only ones in the whole wide world. Are we using TV, radio, newspapers to deliver our message? I always insist on positive thinking. Let's not cry over spilt milk but rather be pro-active ourselves. I would suggest explaining how Linux Ubuntu works. There are such courses online but most people would prefer physical contact with the person. Let's tell them that they still can do the same work as they did in Windows with other programs which are better because they are open source. Consequently there is the input of the whole wide world and not just a few persons! |
