Hi all,

first - thank you all for the great ideas!

Considering that we have control only over the modem and router and the
"let's be nice" factor, as well as the low and remote chance of effectively
disabling p2p, I think the best decision will be to isolate and control the
traffic. Moreover, there is a chance some clients may use bandwidth by
Netflix or other non-p2p services for instance.

Today, I have installed dd-wrt on my own home router Dlink DIR-615 Rev. E3
for testing. When ready will just swap it with my friends.

To be honest, I had some mixed feelings about dd-wrt, having both excellent
and not so much experience with it in the past (circa 2008). Seems like
they have improved a lot.

The one I could use for this case is the multiple SSID feature. The idea is
I will isolate create 4 SSIDs for 4 apartments. Then will watch the
statistics. This will point out the heavy users and we will have explicit
prove about it (which will maintain the "lets be nice" factor).

Will post back here when got some updates.

Again, thank you very much, very appreciated!

George
