OK,

it is official - dd-wrt rocks!

As p2p couldn't be stopped, a different approach was taken. I restricted
and QoS-ed it, then cut down the number of connections per client to 30 (30
tcp + 30 udp). Although, this doesn't stop torrenting, it severely impacts
the user browsing experience on that same computer while the rest of the
clients have no troubles at all. Moreover, this measure slows down such
practices that the user may just give up at some point.

I have some more trumps in my sleeve - I could limit the bandwidth per
client and install L7-filter (I think). So far, so good, will see when I
would get the chance to actually implement this for my friends.

Thinking about the authentication option I think Raspeberry Pi may serve as
such purpose. Provided I go with Raspbian, what service would you
recommend? I am concerned about the load on the Pi.

Thank you again all!
